These photographs were provided by Don Richards Shipfitter 1st Class. Don was a plank owner (member of the original commissioning crew) of the USS Telfair. Don was transferred from the USS Pennsylvania to commission the Telfair. He served on USS Telfair until she was decommissioned at the end of World War II.
Don is preparing some sea stories for us. A preview of one tells us how he worked on the damaged bow of USS Telfair while swinging from a bosn's chair.
