Photographs taken by Royal Nickodemus during W.W.II, and provided by his grandson Martin Fahrer. Text below is taken from Martin's email
Don,
I recently visited my Grandfather. I will not retell the kamikaze attack because my
father has e-mailed it to you.
He had a typed history of the Telfair from the Navy. Discussing the IE Shima &
Okinawa landing. According to the document they landed April 18th 1945 w the tenth
army troops. During the attack there were 388 Enemy killed and one prisoner
captured. Th US forces lst 15 Men 73 Wounded & 5 Missing. I believe one of the
pictures I sent you was from that mission.

Telfair- Picture of the ship taken during W.W.II Dec. 1943

DF- A picture of an aerial dogfight at Okinawa EI Shima landing, taken from aboard
the Telfair deck.

LC- A landing craft being brought aboard the Telfair.
Notice the hull Number PA210-11
I have a story of a drunken LT. that almost got a landing craft lost and about a
dozen more pictures to scan and send.
Hope you enjoy
Martin
